MOBO Magic in Glasgow
Wednesday 30th September saw a great night for events in Glasgow with the MOBO Awards being held outside London for the first time in 14 years.
With acts like N-Dubz, Mr Hudson, Chipmunk, JLS and Tinchy Stryder all performing live, and the inimitable Keri Hilson and Reggie Yates as presenters for the evening, it was always going to be a dramatic evening with everyone looking for tickets and wanting to be a part of it. Elaine Hamilton was a guest at the Awards this year, and details her experience below.
I arrived at the MOBOs just in time to walk along the red carpet as both Tinchy Stryder and Mr Peter Andre (presenting backstage for the MOBOs) exited their cars. I was astounded by the hype and excitement generated by the Glasgow crowd, everybody dressed up to the nines and super super stylish in the way only Glasgow could be at 6.00pm on a chilly Autumn evening.
As I enjoyed all that the event had to offer, lucky enough to have access to the VIP area and later, a table close to the stage, I was hit by what a fantastic showcase this was for Scotland and for Glasgow. The acts were exciting and entertained throughout, the tribute to Michael Jackson was, of course, significant to everybody at the SECC in their own way, but most importantly for us as event organisers was the demonstration of what we can take on and what can be delivered by the exceptional talents in Glasgow and across Scotland.
