The brief highlighted that in previous years the event had become a little staid. EDF told us that whilst the subject matter of running the nuclear energy facility and managing almost 500 staff was very important, they needed to ensure real engagement and a sense of value for the team of 80 attending.

We selected Lennoxlove House – a short distance from their working location but with a wonderful and historical history. It had an inspiring Great Hall for the majority of activities and four beautiful break-out areas for the teams to use. Participants had a great welcome with bacon rolls and good coffee to get the day underway, and fuel stops were available as the day progressed.

Before tucking into a deliciously warming lunch, the teams were mixed up and participated in a fully interactive and very competitive treasure hunt using the latest mobile technology both inside and outside, fully utilising the beautiful grounds at Lennoxlove.

After a great afternoon working session, we once again got everyone together for the prize giving, some fantastic interactive entertainment and a few well deserved drinks and canapés to kick start the weekend.

The event was all about motivation and inspiration for the year ahead, and it was also an opportunity for everyone to reflect on their corporate achievements and share in the company’s charitable work. This was achieved through a range of activities where guests could understand the impact that their fundraising activities had made. The feel good factor was very strong and with sales targets in line with expectations so far, the motivation remains high.

Now into their second season, the Braehead Clan play in the Elite Ice Hockey League and the team’s success is set to make it a potentially lucrative commodity for sponsorship partners. Rather than feeling like cogs in a wheel, our guests were true VIPs for the day and had the best of everything, allowing them to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.  The day kicked-off well before the Italy v France match, with a private reception and lavish lunch at the five star Missoni hotel, entertained by some amazing ‘street magic’ tricks.  We pride ourselves on creating a unique experience for each client, according to their needs. For this event, luxury coach transport to and from the match was all part of the service and the group ended the day on a high with convivial post match drinks party.

Supporting this, and one of the highlights was an art competition for children at Edinburgh’s Royal Hospital for Sick Children, chosen because the hospital’s Sick Kids charity is supported by Peter Vardy Foundation and partnered with the BMW Leith dealership for fundraising this year.   Some fantastic artwork and great colouring-in was submitted by the kids on the wards and in the respite home, all based around what the Olympics means to them.

We got a real sporting hero – Euan Burton, Olympic Judo champion, representing Great Britain at London 2012 to judge the results and, suffice to say, we were all bowled over by the creative talent that emerged. The best pictures are on display in the showroom alongside the lovely new BMWs.

Guests were greeted on the iconic Murrayfield trackside by four of the latest cars, a big screen welcome and a full pipe band. Once inside, they were cocooned within a stage set evoking the corporate style. There was dancing and casino action, as well as the announcement of prestigious company awards.

The extratime team can’t wait for next year’s bash – there’s plenty of time to work out how to make it even more spectacular than this one!

To give it a unique twist, the extratime team came up with a ‘Mini magic’ theme, carrying this through from the ‘No Illusion’ tag line to the celebrity magician, and fire-breathing champion cocktail maker. Kevin McMahon, star of Faking It reality TV show, performed amazing tricks for the crowd of invited guests. Every detail had been meticulously planned, from co-ordination of the branding and product placement to welcoming and inspiring the guests. All in all it was fun, stylish and magical – just like the Mini Coupe!
